Q: How would you describe your job in under 50 words?
Exciting, dynamic, demanding and rewarding. People, strategy and moment related. I enjoy what I do very much as I am leading the team of young yet very strong professionals dedicating a great passion and knowledge to every single task.
Q: What advice would you offer to all soon to be working in marketing in the meetings industry?
Find your target group as a strategy no 1 or get part of the public to become your target group. I believe it starts by knowing the product, maximum performance level of the team and the glitteriest results that can be delivered. The whole difference can make the ‘packaging’, positioning and communication which should also rely not only on the product but also on the uniqueness of the destination. It is a dynamic industry overall and awakening one in the regional countries which does bring business when mostly needed.
Q: How to develope talent and how to help people grow to the next level?
I believe that tourism industry in general attracts people who are inclined toward it. Guidance through the internships and entry level work showcases parts of the meeting industry and I believe true talents then take a path toward the meeting industry which is a very specific area. Therefore, I believe that the talent in general is already there however it takes a true leadership, freedom to act with clear guidelines and two way street of communication. The core is that the strong sides of the talent need to be structured if structure is needed whilst the downsides or the weak points need to be faced, work on them needs to be planned on, then worked on daily until taken to the same level of the strong sides. Once learning by doing brings results and dealing with the full set tasks on a certain level is with ease, it is time for another level prior the boredom takes over. It is very individual yet these steps are unique to most of the people.
Q: What are you most excited about at the moment?
We are wrapping up a very successful season and preparing fully for the very next phase of Regent Porto Montenegro ie completion of Regent Pool Club Residences which will add to the diversification of the units ie larger number of the twin bedrooms, lavish pool area and large gym which will enhance existing stunning Regent Porto Montenegro
Q: Your advice/suggestion for turning a boring event into a memorable one?
I believe that each and single event is unique and it does reflect an organizer himself/herself. Therefore, at least in Regent, there are no boring events . If the moment need to be spiked a bit, it is up to the judgement of the Event Manager and the organizer to add a bit of magic, bit of guidance or an element of surprise such as speech, music, leading bar tender or the waiter to do the sketch.
